The Council Foundations network at the Diplomatic School of Spain

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation organized a Public Diplomacy Seminar to the Diplomacy and International Relation Master students

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation offered a Public Diplomacy Seminar to the Diplomacy and International Relation Master students from the 17th to the 19th February.

The Council Foundations network was the focus of one of the sessions. The Council Foundations were created by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spain Australia Foundation is integrated in this network. The Secretary General, the diplomat Jesús Rodríguez-Andía, explained the work that the SACF has carried out since it was launched in 2010 and how in these 10 years of experience it has become an essential value in the Ministry´s public diplomacy.

He also highlighted the benefits in being part of the Foundation for the companies of the board, since it enables fluent communication with the Australian Administration being an agile and effective vehicle for their commercial interests in the country.

In addition, thanks to its different information channels, this website and the social media, the Council Foundation has become an information reference as well as a disseminator of the cultural, educational and other fields links between Spain and Australia.

During the seminar there was also a session dedicated to the Casas Network, another tool fostered by the Ministry. Casa Asia is integrated in this network and is as well one of the members of the SACF Board, a good example of the good functioning of the different pieces developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
