XVII Board Meeting of the Spain Australia Council Foundation

The Board evaluated the first semester activities, and did the analysis of the scheduled for the last months of the year

The Spain Australia Council Foundation held its XVII board meeting at the Ministry of External Affairs, European Unions and Cooperation headquarters.

The representatives of the companies and institutions which form part of the Council Foundation took stock of the past semester activities as well as the next month’s coming events.

The Director General for North America and Asia-Pacific, Fidel Sendagorta, and Mr. Yann Emonet, Deputy Director General for Commercial policies with Europe, Asia and Oceania of the Secretary of State for Trade analysed the opportunities around the new free trade agreement between Australia and the European Union.

The Secretary General, Alonso Dezcallar, reviewed the recent activities. The most important, because of the important number of companies involved and the Impact on the media and social networks, was the IV edition of the Australian Leaders Program, held in may between Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona. With the participation of four outstanding Australian professionals from the infrastructure and transport sector. Both important sectors in the Australian economy, and in which, Spain is the second-largest worldwide in turnover from foreign business.

To end up the meeting, the Board analysed the planned activities for the second half of the year, as the Earth Forum that will be held in Canberra. Is the fourth Forum organised by the association of Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific (SRAP) with the support of the SACF. Previous Forums were dedicated to Water, Light and Air.

In addition, the Board, contemplates a meeting with the new Australian Ambassador to Spain, Mrs. Julie-Ann Guivarra, as well as other regular activities such as seminars and round tables.
