The 8th edition of the Malaspina Awards announced its winners on October 7. These awards, organized by the Embassy of Spain in Australia and the Association of Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific (SRAP), recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to strengthening relations between Spain and Australia in the fields of science, research, culture, and technology.
In this edition, the winners are:
Bill Bennett: Recognized for his outstanding career in science and technology, contributing to the strengthening of scientific ties between the two countries.
Macquarie University: Awarded for its commitment to research and international collaboration, especially in joint projects with Spanish institutions.
The award ceremony will take place on October 31 at the Australian Academy of Science in Canberra. As in previous editions, the event will serve as a prominent meeting point in the field of scientific diplomacy, celebrating cooperation and knowledge exchange between Spain and Australia.
The Malaspina Awards are supported by AECID, the Association of Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific (SRAP), and Navantia Australia.
