The company has obtained, for the eighth consecutive year, the 'Triple A' rating for its emissions reduction strategy and corporate governance practices
The rating agency MSCI has awarded Naturgy a triple 'A' rating, the highest possible, in its analysis of the company's resilience to long-term sustainability risks. This marks the eighth consecutive year that our company has received this recognition, making it the Spanish company with the longest uninterrupted streak of receiving it.
MSCI's analysis positively assesses the company's smaller carbon footprint, leadership in governance practices, and its occupational health and safety policy. Naturgy's highest score was in the environmental area: MSCI recognizes the company's emissions reduction target for 2030 and its commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050.
Nuria Rodríguez, Naturgy's Director of Environment and Social Responsibility, stated that "receiving the highest rating for our sustainability practices is a recognition that reinforces our commitment to the environment. This achievement reflects the collective effort of the entire organization to integrate sustainability into every strategic decision and is a clear sign that we are on the right track."
Fighting the Australian bushfires
Meanwhile, GPG Australia, Naturgy's subsidiary in the country, reported on its work with local fire brigades to prepare an action plan in case of a fire on the grounds of the Ryan Corner wind farm. Due to the high temperatures during the summer months, the risk of wildfires in green areas is a concern for GPG Australia. Given the nature of its facilities, it is crucial to maintain constant monitoring to quickly detect potential outbreaks and respond immediately.
In recent months, GPG Australia and the local fire brigades have conducted five on-site training sessions. These sessions have allowed teams to familiarize themselves with the environment, layout, and key areas to monitor, taking into account the park's infrastructure.
