The participants in the Programme visited Airbus’s factory in Seville
Miguel Ángel Morell, Head of Operations, and Rocío Caparrós, Head of Institutional Relations, welcomed SACF’s delegation to Airbus’s facilities. After a corporate presentation outlining the company’s origins and how Spain came to participate in the project after the Group acquired CASA, the Airbus representatives emphasised the company’s international footprint, with sales outside of Europe accounting for 80% of the total. They also highlighted its history with Australia, where it has significant business operations, with contracts including one to deliver the Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport to the Royal Australian Air Force.
The Australian Leaders later visited the assembly line, where they were able to go inside the A400m model and visit the hangar of the C295, a historical flagship aircraft. Parts from the Beluga aircraft from Portugal, Indonesia and Turkey are assembled in Seville, completing the process before passing flying tests to prepare the aircraft for formal onsite delivery to contractors.
