The agenda finished with a guided tour of Real Madrid’s stadium and lunch at the restaurant Puerta 57
The last item on the Leaders Programme agenda was a trip to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where the group had a chance to take a guided tour of the facilities. During the tour, which took them through the trophy room, changing room, press room and pitch, the participants in the Programme explained that soccer is on the rise in Australia and that the National Team has changed confederations to become stronger and now plays in Asia, where they’ve managed to win the Asian Cup.
As part of the tour, the participants learned about a recent agreement signed by Victoria University in Melbourne and Real Madrid through which the latter will welcome Australian students at training programmes.
After the tour, the first edition of the Leaders Programme concluded with lunch at the restaurant Puerta 57. The participants said were pleased with the Programme’s activities, and the Council Foundation’s Secretary General, Alonso Dezcallar, thanked them for their participation and interest and said he hoped the trip would prompt them to work on strengthening bilateral relations upon their return.
