A tour on a horse-drawn carriage and dinner with a flamenco show made up the cultural component of the Leaders Programme in Seville
The Leaders ended their first day in Seville with a show at Tablao Flamenco El Arenal, in Seville’s most typical area. The venue is flanked by La Maestranza theatre and the bullring and overlooked by Torre del Oro. With over 40 years of history, El Arenal has become the best place in Seville to experience flamenco. The Leaders also had the chance to savour Andalusian dishes during dinner at the same venue.
Flamenco has become popular in Australia thanks to the work of institutions such as the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Regional Government of Andalusia and Instituto Cervantes, and to artists like Diego Guerrero.
Prior to the dinner and show and after the visit to Airbus, the group took a tour of the city on a horse-drawn carriage, following the course of the river Guadalquivir until they reached Plaza de España, one of the city’s landmarks.
