Austrade CEO Paul Grimes met with the Board of Trustees of the Spain-Australia Council Foundation in Madrid to discuss new opportunities for trade, investment and business cooperation
The CEO of Austrade, Dr Paul Grimes, visited Spain and met with the Board of Trustees of the Spain-Australia Council Foundation, with the aim of meeting some of the leading Spanish investors in Australia. The Australian Ambassador to Spain, Rosemary Morris-Castico, also took part in the meeting, which was held at ACCIONA’s headquarters, where they were welcomed by the President of the Spain-Australia Council Foundation, Joaquín Mollinedo.
Paul Grimes’ visit comes at a key moment of new opportunities following the conclusion of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Australia and the European Union. Spain also plays an increasingly important role in Australia’s economic relations, with significant Australian investment in sectors such as infrastructure and energy, as well as a strong presence of Spanish companies in Australia, particularly in renewable energy, defence and infrastructure.
Against this backdrop, the meeting provided the Foundation’s trustees with an opportunity to engage in a direct and constructive dialogue with Austrade’s CEO, exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for trade, investment and business cooperation.
