Ambas as entidades organizaram em conjunto uma mesa redonda na qual participou a primeira-ministra de Victoria, Jacinta Allan
Our patron Acciona and the European Australian Business Council (EABC) held a roundtable discussion to explore ways to leverage the existing strengths of the Australian state of Victoria, as well as the opportunities and strategic ties with Europe.
Participants from various sectors included Jacinta Allan, Premier of Victoria; Bede Noonan, CEO of Acciona Australia; and Andre Noonan, the company's Chief Operating Officer. Also taking part in the roundtable were Jason Collins, CEO of the EABC, and Jo Johns, COO of the EABC.
Participants discussed key topics such as fostering a dynamic, innovative, and resilient business environment; making Victoria an attractive destination for high-quality foreign investment; and accelerating the implementation of productivity-boosting infrastructure, as well as major projects in housing, clean energy, critical minerals, AI, and economic growth.
Both Acciona and the Spain-Australia Council Foundation (FCEA) are long-standing partners of the EABC: the Foundation has held several luncheons with the organization. The last two took place last year, one in Madrid and the other in Canberra. Furthermore, Jason Collins, CEO of the EABC, participated in the FCEA Board of Trustees meeting in June 2024, held at the Acciona Campus.
Acciona in Australia
Acciona's activity in Australia began in 2002 with the development of renewable energy projects. From 2007, the company also worked on water access, transport, and mobility infrastructure projects. Among its most recent projects, Acciona inaugurated an energy recovery plant in Western Australia last month. Its railway project in Perth has also been recognized for its excellence and sustainability, and it has been awarded several contracts in South Australia, Melbourne, and Western Australia.
