Our patron has won the Company of the Year 2025 award at the Weld Australia awards
Acciona's Mechanical and Electrical team in Victoria, Australia, has received the Company of the Year - Manufacturing award at the 2025 Victoria and Tasmania Welding Excellence Awards, presented by Weld Australia. This achievement reflects the team's dedication and expertise, its leadership in the sustainable delivery of infrastructure, and its strong commitment to quality, innovation, and community impact.
The company recently received AS/NZS ISO 3834 certification, reinforcing its focus on manufacturing excellence, safety, and environmental performance. By adopting Industry 4.0 technologies, such as automated orbital welding and advanced laser systems, Acciona has improved accuracy, efficiency, and sustainability across all its projects.
In addition, Acciona Energía announced the commissioning and start of commercial operation of the Aldoga photovoltaic plant, located on the central coast of Queensland. The 480 MW plant will generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 185,000 homes and will prevent around 834,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
The commissioning of Aldoga marks another step in Acciona Energía's growth in Australia, a strategic country for the company. The company already has almost 2 GW of renewable energy capacity installed or under construction, including wind and solar projects.
Acciona, together with its partner Genus, was also recently awarded the contract to build the Western Renewables Link, a key project for Victoria's renewable energy future. This infrastructure will span approximately 190 kilometers and will supply a new transmission line from Bulgana to the Sydenham terminal station, northwest of Melbourne. The project will produce large-scale renewable energy in the region, exceeding 3,000 MW of new generation and supplying up to one million Victorian homes.
