It is the only Spanish bank with an 'AAA' rating in environmental, social and governance matters and leads the list of financial institutions in the Euro Stoxx
Our parent company, CaixaBank, has achieved the highest possible rating (triple 'A') in the MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) ranking that measures companies' performance in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions, based on their management of financially relevant ESG risks and opportunities.
With this rating, CaixaBank improves upon its previous AA rating by obtaining the highest possible score (10 compared to 7.7 in the previous edition). Only 16% of the banks that make up the MSCI ACWI Index are in the AAA category, and CaixaBank is the only Spanish bank to have achieved this.
Within the Euro Stoxx, only six banks held this rating as of the end of October, and CaixaBank, along with Société Générale, leads the ranking with 10 points. The bank has improved its score in all dimensions compared to February 2025: environmental (10 compared to 8.4); Social responsibility (5.6 vs. 4.8) and governance (6.9 vs. 5.6).
The ranking analysis highlights CaixaBank's strengths and leadership in corporate governance, as well as its workforce management efforts; its low exposure to carbon-intensive sectors; the bank's measures to mitigate environmental risks; and the existence of due diligence mechanisms to assess environmental risks in its financing activities. It also commends its privacy management, with its data protection policies.
