Their joint venture has been selected as the preferred partner for the construction of the new Peel Health Campus hospital in Mandurah, Western Australia
The Spanish construction company Sacyr and the Australian firm Built recently signed a framework agreement to jointly execute construction projects in Australia.
The first result of this agreement has been the selection of the joint venture between the two companies as the preferred alliance partner for the construction of the new Peel Health Campus hospital in Mandurah, near Perth, Western Australia. The Sacyr and Built team is progressing with the design and development of this new infrastructure in conjunction with the state government, and construction is expected to begin in the middle of this year.
The CEO of Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure, Rafael Gómez del Río, emphasized regarding this agreement that "Built and Sacyr share the vision of building smarter and more resilient infrastructure. By combining global capabilities with local strength, our alliance guarantees certainty, efficiency, and long-term value for our clients and communities."
For his part, David Paterson, CEO of Built Construction, stated that "Sacyr brings deep global experience in the execution of large-scale social infrastructure projects (...) Australia's infrastructure project portfolio demands teams capable of confidently managing its complexity, combining scale and innovation to ensure its efficient execution to the highest standards."
The alliance with Built aligns with one of the priority objectives of Sacyr's 2024-2027 Strategic Plan: to increase its project portfolio in English-speaking countries. Sacyr began operations in Australia in 2008 through its subsidiary Sacyr Agua, with the construction and operation of the Binningup desalination plant.
