They expand the possibilities for student mobility and opportunities for shared research between both institutions
RMIT University and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) have signed a new agreement that strengthens their long-standing collaboration and expands opportunities for their students and researchers.
The agreement was signed in Barcelona at a ceremony attended by UPC Rector Francesc Torres and several RMIT leaders, including Chancellor Peggy O'Neal, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Design and Social Context Tim Marshall, and Marta Fernández, Executive Director of our patron, RMIT Europe.
The new agreement includes student exchange opportunities between RMIT and four UPC schools: the School of Computer Science; the School of Industrial, Aerospace and Visual Engineering; the School of Civil Engineering; and the School of Telecommunications Engineering.
In addition, the agreement will also provide access to UPC's specialized laboratory facilities, fostering joint research and collaboration between the two universities.
According to RMIT Chancellor Peggy O'Neal, "the new agreement will allow us to work better together for the common good, conduct translational research, broaden the experience of our students and staff through exchanges, and collaborate more effectively both online and on campus."
UPC Rector Francesc Torres noted that the agreement "seeks to extend this framework of collaboration to the communities of both universities, providing them with greater opportunities for research and training."
