Its subsidiaries UGL and CPB Contractors will participate in the construction of a wind farm in Western Australia and in the modernization of the electricity grid in New South Wales
The Australian company CIMIC Group, part of our patron Grupo ACS, has announced the award of two new strategic projects combining renewable energy generation and the modernization of electrical infrastructure.
The first project is the construction of the Narrogin wind farm in Western Australia, which will have a capacity of 179 MW. UGL and CPB Contractors, subsidiaries of CIMIC, have been selected by Neoen and Envision to carry out the works, which will include the design and construction of access roads, platforms, foundations, collector circuits, and a high-voltage substation. The project will feature 23 wind turbines of 7.8 MW each.
The second project is being developed in New South Wales, where UGL has won a contract with Transgrid to carry out the necessary works for the future installation of synchronous condensers at the Wellington and Darlington Point substations. This project is part of the first phase of Transgrid's System Strengthening Plan. UGL's work includes earthworks, foundations, underground utilities, and new facilities to house electrical and communications systems. This infrastructure will be essential to ensuring the security and resilience of the grid.
With these two projects, CIMIC consolidates its position in energy and renewable infrastructure in Australia.
